What to expect on your first visit:

Our therapists will conduct a thorough review of your medical history and evaluation of your condition. They will measure your strength, balance, and functional ability as it relates to your diagnosis. The results of these tests will provide a framework for designing a program of various manual therapy techniques to start you on the path to wellness. Following your first visit with our trained therapists, you will schedule follow-up appointments based on your needs and availability. Most initial evaluations last about one hour, however, session length is dependent upon the nature of your treatment. We do our very best to provide what is needed for each individual case.

Please bring the following to your first appointment:
  • Your Physical Therapy prescription
  • Insurance cards
  • Driver’s License or Photo ID
  • Complete medical history and a list of your medications
  • Minors must have a parent or guardian with them, unless documented verbal authorization has been previously received
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for good mobility
Insurance Plans:

We accept most insurance plans. Medicare covers 80% and if you have a secondary plan, they typically cover the remaining 20%. Prior to your first appointment, we thoroughly review your plan and discuss your benefits with you. We know this is a stressful time and we strive to eliminate any financial surprises. We file all insurance claims for you. Some plans require a co-pay or have a deductible that you will be asked to pay at each visit.

Treatment Frequency:

Our goal is to return each client to their highest level of function. Your physician may specify the number of weekly visits they recommend or they may rely upon the therapist to determine the frequency. Two to three times per week is the general recommendation, but your schedule and condition will also be considered.

You can choose your Physical Therapy clinic

Many people do not realize that while their doctor may have ‘specified’ a certain clinic, it is absolutely the patient’s choice where they receive therapy. Most physicians will send their patients to therapy that is convenient to their home or work, unless they have financial interest in the establishment.

Physical Therapists assist in the preservation, improvement or restoration of movement by identifying and creating a plan to address areas that are impeding proper function.

Do you have pain or decreased mobility?  Through physical therapy you can regain lost mobility in order to function at your peak without pain or discomfort. Physical therapy is the non-surgical, non-invasive route to restored function and peak performance.

Are you having trouble walking, going upstairs or getting in and out of bed? Physical therapy can make daily tasks and activities easier.

Have you recently had surgery? Your doctor will likely recommend physical therapy for rehabilitation from injuries or long-term health problems, such as arthritis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Do you want to get back in the game? Injuries large and small can keep you on the sidelines, and this is tough for an athlete. Physical Therapy can get you back in the game faster.

The broad term Physical Therapy encompasses many modalities such as massage, heat and cold treatment, exercise, water therapy, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. It almost always includes exercise such as stretching, core exercises, weight-lifting and walking.
